Volume Rich or Mix Rich?

Yes, I remember some of the guys use to lean there bike over to drain the excess fuel out. I use to lap the fuel needles with tooth paste, get them where they wouldn't leak past, mark the fuel level and drill, tap and thread and put in a fuel line nipple for a hose and let it overflow into a Coors beer can that hung from a leather cup holder, the carbs would fill both cans on a run. Solved that problem really good. There were six puke cans on the double, all Coor beer cans, it picked up the nick name, six pack for awhile. I never ran short nozzles, that's in the hard air intake area, cause to many blown engines.
The real art of leaving the line. Let out the clutch first and turn the throttle on afterwards, get under the power line and not stall the motors, it calls for great timing. On my singles, some runs I wouldn't get the throttle open all the way until the last timing light. If its a slider, on the left handle bar have a brake lever that operates a brake caliper to the rear wheel, you can use it like a clutch. Great for preloading the clutch and if you feel a little slippage at the rear tire you can use it to stop it from going up in smoke
