We fired it on gasoline from a squirt bottle

The night I was talking about we used a squirt bottle also but running nitro was so new at that time the jets were way to small and even so it would not start unless the engine was hot or at least warm. You have to imagine the thing when it first started it pop and banged until it got pretty hot, I used to have to wrap a towel around my leg on the exhaust side to keep from getting burned. Man was that a long time ago, thinking about it now, we really looked stupid, but we were the big shots at the drags that night. That's when you used Benz oil (spelling) to cut the mix.
