About my Dad

Yep.....My Dads one of my hero's..............We had alot of fun when I was a kid at the drags......He used to walk around the pits and look at the other bikes and cars with me....I loved getting pics from all the drivers. And talk about what I thought was free food...My Dad made arangements at the snack bar at Irwindale Drags for me to be able to order food and he'd pay for it later, Awesome hamburgers......But the old Irwindale strip is gone...... My Dad fell in the traps at Irwindale Dragstrip and thats when I started crossing my fingers at all the races from then on....I didn't do it for that one race and I thought it was my fault that he fell.....The things kids think of..

Worried about Story

I was a little worried about posting that little story about Larry and myself, I hope it doesn’t offend anyone. Thanks about the hero thing, I guess I shouldn’t feel bad about it because I know I was and still am a hero to my Daughter, Patti. I have hundreds of stories floating around in my head like that. I won’t be able to post most of them because I can’t put all the times and dates together properly and I probably would offend someone then. I have some good ones about TC and me, our races at the Nationals, our Match races. Two of my Exhibitions at the Winternationals in Pomona, CA I talked the NHRA into instead of making three single runs between the last rounds of Top Fuel Dragster to have a match race. One year it was Boris and the other year it was "The Worlds Quickest and Fastest Pollock", Sonny, anybody remember that name. If I can find enough data while researching for these stories I will put them together and post them, don’t look for than soonest.

Family Racing

Beech Bend, 1976
I love all you guys that come up with such great memories for me. Pictures like this brings tears to my eyes, that picture of my daughter was use a lot. A lot of people didn’t know, when I was doing the Exhibition runs at the Nationals she sometimes worked the tower for the NHRA and when I was ready to run you could see her running down the steps from the tower to the bleach box to be part of the crew. My wife Pat, passed away two years ago this July, Bless her. My wife was such a good fuel mixer sometime guys would come to my pit to get their plugs looked at and for her to mix them a two gallon can of fuel. We were a great racing team.
