Why the color

Did you know, back when there were three pedals on the floor for the driver to drive with and the throttle was on the steering column, they were testing Gasoline and someone overturned a bottle of ink in it by accident and found that gas with color worked better? That’s how Gas eventually got color to it. In 1955-57 you could get the lead and octane in chemical that made gas more powerful, I remember the lead chemical was a bright red.
