Talking about great Racers
You got me! There is nothing I could ever say even if I wanted to after you mention Elmer’s name. He was a pioneer in his own right; he was the one who led the way to greater speeds. He also gained the friendship of the Automotive World and applied that to a motorcycle. I knew Elmer, not like you did, but if I had lived on the east coast I know we could have been great friends. The first race Ron Fringer won the year he rode my double, I believe, was against Elmer’s Double Harley; I remember Elmer's words to me at that race. "If we want to continue to be winners we are going to have to give up our Harleys and move on to something else". He was right, and he did and was the man to launch us all into greater speeds.
